Deborah Segraves is a mother and grandmother, who has lived most of her life in the Pacific Northwest. She worked in B2B sales for many years. The assets developed in her career—friendliness and approachability—now help others, regardless of age, to find the solutions they need for personal success.

The rich vegetation and wildlife of this area and travels with her late husband to the Olympic Peninsula and Orcas Island inspired the setting for the Beacon of Light books. The characters themselves participate in a story where the struggle every person faces to find self-worth comes to life. Amidst this setting, Segraves weaves life lessons into the story she has found invaluable.

She chose the fiction setting of the Beacon of Light books, Eagle’s Watch and Awakening to make learning essential life skills entertaining. Her goal is to see more children experiencing stability and lasting joy, even if the situation surrounding them could be better.

Deborah is a licensed minister and leader in her local church. She especially enjoys her teaching role in youth church.

In addition to her love of children, Segraves is passionate about helping those in negative situations learn to transition to lives filled with God’s grace. She prepares a time of fellowship and empowerment each week, called the Hour of Empowerment. Each session is designed to show how to apply biblical principles in daily living.

In what remains of her time, Deborah enjoys gardening and maintaining her yard. Between walks with her dog, Trixie, and her new YouTube ministry, Deborah stays as active as many women half her age.
